We have seen the entertainment industry go to a standstill since the lockdown. But as we say we can achieve anything when we have a will to do it.

So here is the good news for all you fans who have been missing the theater play, an initiative called the Online Mazhya Theatre has been initiated by actor/ producer Sunil Barve. In this OMT platform, plays will be held through the zoom calls for which the tickets would be available online. Mime is one of the acting skills that is seen being performed by many actors in their OMT plays these days.


Rutuja Bagwe who is known for her roles in Eka Lagnachi Tisari Gosht and Tu Maza Sangati recently demonstrated a beautiful piece of Mime on OMT which she shared on her Instagram profile. Other actors like Shubhankar Tawde and many others performed Mime in their online play too.

For all those wondering what is a Mime? A Mime is an art or technique of portraying a character, mood, idea, or narration by gestures and bodily movements; without uttering any words. Many celebrities of the Marathi division like Gauri Nalawade, Sankarshan Karhade, Aroh Welankar, and many others are a part of OMT and have given their support to this great initiative as it will be a platform to bind the art, the artist and the audience together.
